If you love the Vocals, then you'd like the Rest!, 8 Jun 2009
A Skylit Drives second album came with their new singer "Jag" who previusly worked in a band called "Odd Project" in which he sang as a dualvocalist a pitch higher than the other singer.
A Skylit Drive's album W.A.R.C.O.B. is a post-hardcore emoish album, with sappy lyrics, many breakdowns and often sing-a-long like choruses and the oblicatory riduculus songtitles (like "I'm Not A Thief, I'm A Treasure Hunter".) Of course there is a cleansinger and a screamer.
...And short to say, I love Jag (clean singers) "way-too-high-note-singing-that-most-of-all-sound-like-a-9-year-old-girl-who-gets-beaten-at-the-same-time". It works great on this album, and the screamer makes a belieable screaming, that dosen't sound too forced to be silly.
Im not a guitarist, but the riffs are catchy, but what really shines through on this album besides the vocals are the drums.
I have never heard as clean soudning drums ever, everything can be heard here! And the drummer makes up some rather catchy tunes, and isen't afraid to put some hightempo doublebass into to songs if they need more crushing power! Many breakdowns are used, and the drummer often play punkish rytms and shifts the playing style many times during a song. Although It never gets messy or confusing, but rather adds alot of energy.
Well, put this album gotta have some downsides too right? First of all, they seem to have packed the goods song at the start of the cd. But they compliment this by having the best track in my oppinion last "All It Takes For Your Dreams To Come True" which is really a good thing. Noone of the tracks on this cd are bad, and all of them are rathe memorable.
A small note is that the band was a bit too fast to make 5 videos for their songs, which seems abit hastened, and also makes the videos suck BIG time.
...Actually I should have given this album a 5 star. Put no matter what, many people will dislike Jag's vocal work alot. And I can understand them, put I find them really working great with the music.
If you need the finest of Screamo bands tjeck this cd out. Other bands you might like if you find A Skylit Drive appealing could include Chiodos and Emarosa.

Awesome Vocals - Solid Album, 29 April 2009
Really good Album.
Love the vocals - contrast between some harsh screaming and high pitched singing really works well.
First couple of tracks are great. Tails off a little but overall its a decent album.
Listen to if u like A Day to remember, Silverstein, Scary Kids scaring kids etc etc.

I never received my order, you emailed me and told me the seller was no longer trading on amazon which was only right after reading his feedbacks there was hundreds of unsatisfied customers, I only wish I had read his feedbacks before I ordered my cd which incidently was for my nieces birthday, she was very dissapointed when she did not get it. How can I rate what I never recieved.
