Amazon Verified Purchase
I was going to return this as it worked fine in still photo mode (with or without the 2 second delay) but I couldn't get it working in video mode (even with the toggle switch on the underside of the remote set to '2'). It turns out that video remote control for the Canon 550D and Canon 600D is DISABLED by default, so you have to go into the camera's menu while it's in video mode to enable it. This is not specifically mentioned in either the 550D or 600D manuals - I only noticed it by chance when changing some other settings. So in the end this remote works perfectly to start and stop video and is a fraction of the cost of the "official" RC-6 remote...

This remote works well with my Canon 550D. Because it's small, light and dark, it might easly get lost so its good that the price is low just incase. It's almost worth having on a keyring. It does the job and it came with a battery. To use it I just looked in my camera instructions. However, since having it its still more fun setting the 550Ds on board timer and making a run for it before the picture is taken.

Works fine with my Canon 550D. The 2-second delay feature is very useful, and I would definitely recommend this against the RC-5 type controls which don't have this. Great value at the price!

Wish it would work at longer distances
When you move more than 3 meters away from the camera the remote control does not work. And your lens easily gets on the way.
