3.0 out of 5 stars Wireless Nano USB Adaptor 26 April 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase
I have bought several much more expensive wireless adaptors but the problem I found with them all was that because of the size they kept getting knocked. On one occasion this damaged the USB port in which it was inserted. I thought, therefore, that I would give this nano adaptor a go since it was only £6.99 with free P & P.The adaptor arrived quickly and was as described - tiny. It took 2 or 3 attempts to get it to work since the software was not that intuitive. However, once working it operated satisfactorily when used in a PC in the same room as the wireless router. It connects seamlessly each time I start the PC. Great! However, when I try it in a PC on the second floor the signal keeps dropping away and the connection is frequently lost. Even when connected the transfer rate is only 1 Mbps. This is disappointing for a 150Mbps device. I have reverted to a 54Mbps adaptor on the second PC since this gives me a transfer rate of 18Mbps. In summary, its cheap and does work so long as you are not very far away from the router but disappointing performance for a 150Mbps device.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ubuntu 12.04 / PeppermintOS Three 30 Aug 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase
This Wireless Nano USB Adaptor worked out of the box in PeppermintOS Three, and Ubuntu 12.04 (so should work in ANY Ubuntu 12.04 based Linux distribution).. I just plugged it in and the 3.2.0-29 kernel automagically detected it and loaded the rt2800usb driver.

It compares favourably with the tiny Edimax EW-7811UN adapter as far as performance and range, but sticks out of the side of a laptop/netbook about twice as much .. it only protrudes about 12mm but if "tiny" is a higher priority than price, go for the Edimax, if however size doesn't matter (as they say ;) ), this is a perfectly good adapter and a cheaper alternative.

All you need to do is, unbox, and plug it in :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Works in Ubuntu 12.04 Linux 19 Sep 2012

I thought it would be useful to let people know that this dongle works perfectly with Ubuntu Linux 12.04 out of the box.
The signal is not great, but that could be because I am using it in a desktop machine, which is placed on the floor, and we have stone walls.
