Awesome Controller 2 Sep 2011
Fun:
After testing this guitar controller for a while, i really have to say that this is the best guitar controller i've ever tried.
Works perfectly with any version of rock band and it also works with the latest versions of guitar hero!

It's Brilliant 25 Jan 2011
Fun:
The whole rockband 3 game is amazing, cool and fun. The guitar is my favourite instrument on rockband 3, but the drum kit (pro) isn't far behind.
I would seriously recomend to anyone who loves music (especially rock and old pop) and families.

Same as the old boss 20 Oct 2010

Fun:
I write this review as someone who has gone through both the original rock band guitar and the rock band 2 guitar, and this review is mainly aimed at people who are already familiar with these sort of things. In a nutshell, this guitar can be exactly described as a rock band 2 guitar that looks like a rock band 1 guitar. It retains all the upgrades of the RB2 guitar, including quieter frets and a sensor to auto-calibrate game lag, while looking like the original black RB1 guitar (a step backwards IMO, as I much prefer the wood grain sunburst design of the RB2 guitar).

I can't find any improvements or differences besides the rock band logo being emblazoned on one end of the guitar strap. The product description advertises quieter fret buttons "over the original" which must refer to the RB1 guitar since I feel and hear no difference compared to the RB2 guitar.

Overall it's still a solid guitar controller... it's just disappointing that no effort was made to improve it in any way.

Just a redress of the RB2 Stratocaster, but not a bad thing. 19 Nov 2010
By Matthew C. Mushall - Published on Amazon.com
Fun:
In case you haven't figured it out based on the other reviews, the Rock Band 3 wireless Fender Stratocaster guitar controller is simply a less colorful carbon copy of its Rock Band 2 predecessor, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. You won't find any extras here. It doesn't work with the much-hyped exclusive RB3 pro-mode. It doesn't add anything that wasn't already there, and it certainly won't improve how well you play. It is, quite simply, a monotone redress with some new branding and a nicer instruction manual. That is, however, fine by me. Harmonix almost perfected the standard RB2 Stratocaster, so there wasn't much room for improvement aside from some minor user preferences. While many liked the colorful wooden sunburst finish, I have always been a fan of the traditional black and white Stratocaster popularized in the movies and used in the first Rock Band. The original Rock Band Stratocaster wasn't wireless and had a colorless plastic neck among many other early deficiencies, but I always liked the monotone color scheme. There really isn't any legitimate reason I can recommend this over it's Rock Band 2 counterpart aside from the new branding and updated instruction manual, but it's certainly not a bad controller. It is fully compatible with every version of Rock Band and most Guitar Hero games. If you like to collect fake plastic guitar controllers or simply want the traditional RB3 version, this is the one to get.

Solid guitar, with a few quirks. 2 Nov 2010

Fun:
I ordered the Rock Band 3 Fender Stratocaster because all of my other guitars were wired, so I thought it was time to trade up. Surprisingly the Rock Band 3 Stratocaster is just a carbon copy of the Rock Band 2 Stratocaster. This guitar is head and shoulders above the original Rock Band Stratocaster which was a piece of garbage.

Pros-

-The fret buttons are faster and quieter.

-The headstock is removable.

-It feels more durable than the original Rock Band Stratocaster.

Cons-

-The start button can be difficult to use. It only seems to work when it feels like it.

-The tilt sensor makes a lot of noise when you move the slightest bit.

-The Xbox 360 version of this guitar only comes in black and white, so it doesn't really stand out from the original Rock Band Stratocaster.

At the end of the day, this is a solid guitar. I still prefer the Gibson Xplorer because of its fast frets, but this guitar definitely gets the job done. I really wish they offered it in different colors than just black for the Xbox 360 version, and I really wish the start button would work when I wanted it to.
