The Whip's first album, 'X Marks Destination', was a very solid record showing some great potential, mixing a variety of styles together. In 'Wired Together', the band's second offering, the sound is much more focused. Rather than trying out several genres, they've gone for pure dance-able electropop and I have to say that they've pulled it off extremely well.

Album opener 'Keep Or Delete' pretty much sums the whole album up and sets the bar high right from the get go. Starting off with smooth synth pads and thoughtful vocals ("we move on much too fast, nothing these days is built to last"), after a minute or so it explodes into a dance tune that is guaranteed to produce some interesting dance moves in a club. 'Secret Weapon' is the lead single that isn't a single; if you don't have it stuck in your head for days afterward there's something wrong. Same goes for 'Shake'.

The album never lets its pace slide and there aren't really any slower tracks until the final track, aptly named 'Slow Down', but even then it's still a dance track so keeps the rhythms going throughout its seven minute duration. More highlights of the album include 'Best Friend', a thumping electro tune with catchy vocals, and 'Riot', which is an excellent party starter with its crazy buzzing synth riff.

In short, this album is a fantastic slice of electronic goodness. The Whip have definitely found their 'sound' so to speak. The style is much more consistent then the first album and the whole record is quality music. If you liked tracks such as 'Divebomb', 'Sister Siam' and 'Dubsex' from their first album, then this is for you, as the band have taken the styles they explored with the likes of those tracks and expanded on them.

I recommend for anyone who likes a good electro album!
