5.0 out of 5 stars Hauntingly Beautiful, 30 Oct 2006
I recently heard a track by 'The Last Town Chorus' on the Jonathan Ross show, Radio 1 - he played Modern Love (the Bowie cover). It was one of those revelatory moments...who is this band?!

I needed to know more, so I consequently Googled the band, found the album and impulsively purchased it online within a matter of minutes! All on the strength of hearing that first track.

It's a snap decision I've not regretted for an instant - this album is a belter. I've listened to Wire Waltz at least half a dozen times since and I think it will be my background soundtrack for a long while to come.

'The Last Town Chorus' have a unique sound, so comparisons are fruitless really. However, if you appreciate the sound of a yearning, wire guitar accompanied by a fabulous, edgy female vocalist, then I can recommend without hesitation that you buy Wire Waltz.

Also, if like me, you're getting a little weary of the many female singers who sound pretty much the same, then Megan Hickey's vocal is refreshingly unique and the song lyrics really touch you deep (but without the accompanying bout of depression, that so many female artists seem to will into their music!)

A superb band, great music and a really strong album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Believe the hype, 25 Oct 2006
I first heard of LTC on radio 2 a couple of months ago and within a few moments I knew I had to listen to more, so I pre-ordered Wire Waltz and finally it arrived. Wonderful vocals, it's almost dream-like in its style. Turn the lights down and chill, this is fresh, uplifting and a joy to behold.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stop and then stop again, 1 Jun 2007

Thank goodness for Mark Le Marr and Johnathon Ross, perhaps radio 2 in general.I also first came accross The Last Town Chorus that Saturday morning in question and went straight out to buy it but to no avail. As the title suggests I was completely smitten, similar effect to first listinings of Jeff Buckley or Katie Melua.Voice of an angel with a hidden past perhaps...My collection is quite eclectic but am always drawn back to Wire Waltz an absolute must.
