I make gold & silver Celtic jewellery, so I was very interested in this book to give me some new ideas. I found it somewhat disappointing. The book is very visual with lots of colour images and everything is well explained. There is even a little history here and there about the origins of the Celtic designs. However I found the scope of the book to be very limited. Most of the designs are like those you see on the cover, consisting of simple spirals. I personally make many designs of Celtic bracelets using traditional designs of interwoven knots. There are no such Celtic knot designs in this book, so I feel the term Celtic jewellery is a little misleading.
The book is aimed perhaps more at beaders; People who make simple jewellery at home. There is no mention of silver, gold or how to solder. The designs are basically bent and shaped wire with beads added. If that's your thing then you may get a little something from this book, but do you really need a whole book on how to wrap a spiral?
