I've been through a few lever actions in the past year, and they generally haven't been much good.
This product however is in a different class.
The weak points with the majority of units on sale is the fact that they are too light weight and after a few months the thin gauge material is distorting.
I know that this will not be the case with this unit. It is built like a battleship! The unit weighs in excess of 10kg and the cast iron construction will last.
Parts that come into contact with the oranges are removable stainless steel, which allows them to be washed.
This is a excellent product which i would recommend!

[[ASIN: B00492EETI]] I strongly recomended because is a quality product. Is big and heavy with a long lever wich makes easily extract the juice. And also is very beatiful because it looks like rustic and I love it.

After doing a fair bit of research I finally decided on this press juicer as I didn't want anything with a motor that mightn't last. We expected it to be heavy and it is. It is slightly taller than I expected and being a 5ft tall woman it's easier to use on the kitchen table rather than on the counter top and I've to use quite a bit of force to fully depress the lever when juicing. It presses oranges and grapefruit well. The pressing unit strains out the pips and the larger pieces of flesh from the fruit but if you also don't like the stringey bits or the pulp then you'll need to strain the juice further. I have used it almost every morning since I purchase it and while I'm a bit of a tight schedule what with getting to work I've still time to juice an orange and enjoy a small glass of freshly juiced orange juice (or of grapefruit/orange mix) each morning. Two things to note. The chrome cap that actually presses the fruit has quite a sharp edge to it so it is wise to be careful when extracting the lower part of the pressing unit for cleaning. Also, the paint that has been applied to the cast iron rubs off around some of the nuts and tiny black dots or shavings of it can be found all around it on the table and a little on the pressing unit itself. It is easy to clean - a rinse with warm water straight after use has been sufficient so far with mine. A good buy, reasonably easy to use, does what it's supposed to do but the larger one won't fit in a any standard press so you need to be prepared to leave it sitting out when not in use but it looks good so that's ok.

Very robust item, does a fine job on "hasaku", the Japanese grapefruity-orange things I use it for. I was heading for RSI of the wrist until I got this. Some reviewers seem to have had a problem with flakes of paint falling from the moving joints - I did as well until I sprayed some oil on them, after which everything proceeded smoothly.

Really good quality product.

Gets all the Juice out.

Its big and heavy - not for a tiny wee kitchen.

A lever juicer has got to be good quality or it'll only last for a while. I reckon this'll be a life long friend.

Was put of by the reviews for the cheaper models, so decided to spend the (considerable) extra and get quality. Think I'll just bullet point the pros and cons:
Pros:
Quick delivery, day earlier than stated.
Well made heavy cast iron that looks and feels as though it will last.
Extracts a good sized glass of orange juice from 2.5 large oranges with very little effort.
Washable and removable stainless steel components that come into contact with the fruit.
Cons
Though heavy, it tips forward when squeezing and backwards on the upward return.
On the first stroke, enamel was scraped off one of the lever arms as it is not aligned correctly....if the rubber stop was an inch longer it would stop this happening, but annoying that it is no longer pristine so soon after unpacking.
A lot of pulp is generated so needs a clean frequently as the juice won't flow easily after a few cups. This is more an observation than a criticism.

If I come across anything else good or bad I'll post.

This juicer is so good, would recommend to any one. Obviously you need space to store it, but aethetically I think it looks great, its super easy to clean, juices like no electronic juicer I've used and can be used for multiple other things, crushing ice for starters. It will never break and will last you a life time, definitely get this.

I love it and it makes the process of juicing oranges for breakfast a pleasure and so easy to clean up, as compared to other types of models. It is very sturdy and it's going to last a lifetime, unlike other models that aren't up to the job or the riggers of a dish washer. Thank you for a sensible and robust tool!
