Not terrible, but newer Wintersleep is much better.

The first Wintersleep album I got was the one after this, Welcome to the Night Sky, and I loved it. After that, I bought their newest album, New Inheritors, and I loved it as well. This made Wintersleep one of my favorite bands. Naturally, I wanted more, and bought this one. Needless to say, I was disappointed. It's not bad, but I can't listen to it over and over like I can with the newest two. I think this one is just too raw. While that can be a very good thing, it is not really in the case of this album; most songs just sound the same, which is not that spectacular. The vocals are just too "moany," for lack of a better word.
In conclusion, this is not a bad album, but it is not great; Welcome to the Night Sky or New Inheritors are much better.

Wintersleep is easily one of the most underrated indie/progressive rock luminaries of our time. This record is a freeze frame of who they were 5 years ago, yet not lacking maturity and powerful songwriting. As of today, Wintersleep has released 2 albums following this one, making a total of four records since 2003. Songs like "Insomnia" that are just absolutely beautiful, and on this particular imported release, a bonus track that is rather rare called "Damage". All in all, there isn't one song on this album that doesn't reach out and inspire me.
