Most Helpful Customer Reviews

6 of 6 people found the following review helpful By Mr Flim Flam Shoes on 5 Jan. 2001
Having a South African wife, I have always had a soft spot for the Springboks. However, the apartheid years tainted all those marvellous sides from the past. Which is why this video is so marvellous. It not only shows the stunning action of a great South African side from THE quintessential Rugby World Cup, it captures the emotion that grabbed hold of ALL of South Africa during those heady days.
Buy this; thrill to the drama of Chester Williams' 4 tries; wince at the drama of the punch up v. Canada; try not to have a lump in your throat as Nelson mandela, wearing Francois Pienaar's No. 6 shirt presents the Bok captain with the Webb Ellis trophy; openly weep at Pienaar as he pays tribute to the support of 43,000,000 South Africans getting the Boks through those nerve tingling final minutes; gasp at the audacity of Joel Stransky's drop goal that wins it.
It's all here, and you'll watch it again and again.
