Laissez Faire Books
“One of the most exciting investment books to come down the pike in a while.”

Review

“If you have even a small taste for profit, you might consider filling your plate from Tier’s smorgasbord of investing wisdom and indulging until your mind – and wallet – are full.”

Better Investing

“Tier’s book is a great read. It gets to the essential reasons for the investment successes of Soros and Buffett better than any other book I have read. More important, it can get you to thinking about how you can apply their lessons, even if you have a modest amount of money.”

The Weber Global Opportunities Report

Business Voice

“Demonstrates that Buffett and Soros both practice exactly the same mental habits and strategies.”

What Investment

“Anecdotal in style, providing useful hints balanced with cautionary warnings that all go to make it interesting.”

Accounting Technician

“Tier adopted the investment habits of Warren Buffett and George Soros himself, sold all his business interests and now lives solely from the returns on his investments.”

Bloomberg Money

“Tier has done the spadework through Buffett’s invaluable series of letters to his shareholders and books on him and Soros, working on 23 “mental habits” the masters have taught him.”

Director

5.0 out of 5 stars The best first book to read, 26 Dec 2006
By Jm Jones "justin jones" (NZ) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is the book I wish I read when I began investing a few years ago. It will set anyone off in the right steps and mind set for investing. It also has a good section at the end where the author has rate some other investment books. The book will also serve as a good reference that you can refer back to when analyzing your investment technique/system. Note, this book is well worth the read for investors of any level of experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars I didn't want this book to end., 4 Sep 2008
That's how much I enjoyed reading this book! For me personally, Mark's book has been a real eye opener and has made me re-evaluate totally my approach to trading and investing. Whilst a fair chunk of this book does espouse standard common sense themes that you will find in virtually every investment book worth it's salt, there are also a lot of ideas in here that goes against conventional wisdom, and certainly gives the reader much food for thought. One of the chapters that I kept reading over and over again was the one on why you should concentrate, not diversify, your portfolio; that goes against everything you've ever heard before from so-called 'expert advisers', but when you sit back and really think about it, what they want to achieve isn't necessarily the same as what you want to achieve as a serious invester. This book helps you to look inwards to yourself, rather than concentrating on what's going on around you, because whether you succeed or fail in the stockmarket depends very much on what goes on inside your head. So read this book thoroughly and understand what it's trying to tell you, and even if you do not aspire to reach Master Investor status, by adopting some or all of the mental habits that both Buffett and Soros practice, it will put you on your way to trading and investing comfortably and with unconscious competence.

5.0 out of 5 stars Invest in this book!, 27 Mar 2008
By Anthony Joyce - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I have been investing for 10 years, sometimes successfully and sometimes with disastrous results. This book has given me the tools to assess my successes and failures.

It would be a wise investment decision to buy this book. Not only will you always refer to it's content but you will be entertained while you are educated. It is a fun read delivering what some people believe to be a heavy topic - Psychological strategies and tactics of master investors.

Invest in this book and watch your personal wealth grow.

1.0 out of 5 stars some useful information, but horrible to read
It wouldnt be too far fetched to assume this book is some form of psychological attack on would-be traders interested in the lives and methods of soros and buffett. Read more
