This review is from: Winning Cash Game Poker (Paperback)
I was hoping for a lot from this book. I was disappointed.
This book follows a rather popular "theme" as of late of the author trying to tell you "what he was thinking" as he played various hands. The problem with this, in my opinion, is that the "concepts" are not presented in any logical format. One hand is a discussion of one concept, and the next hand discusses something else. In short, the nuggets of ideas that come from this book are pretty much lost and not presented in any coherent fashion.
I also have problems with authors who try to discuss both limit and no-limit poker in the same book. Those games play differently. So, you really need to be very careful as to whether the author is discussing a limit or a no-limit game.
Not many books have been written about cash poker. (Apparently books about tournament poker are the hot items these days). So, I was eagerly awaiting this book. Unfortunately, it really did not add to my poker knowledge.
