What a dissapointing DVD this is to learn from. If I have any imediate advice to anyone looking to learn the Wing Chun forms then please do not learn from this dvd. The positioning of all the techniques is TERRIBLE and if anyone who has actually had professional Wing Chun training would make me right. The positioning that they demonstrate in this DVD would cause a practioner to get hit every time they used Wing Chun against someone else who knew Wing Chun or Martial Arts. I know this to be true as I have been training Wing Chun professionaly for about 4 years now. The actual set up of this DVD is very well though out and put together. The concept behind it is very easy to understand it is just such a shame the actual Wing Chun is so bad. The DVD shows in clear detail all the forms and also the Pole, Knives, and Dummy techniques.

Ignore the person who didn't like this DVD; they couldn't read the description.

I have resently purchased Alan's latest DVDs on the wing chun system(Forms, Drills, and Chi Sao), and as a student I can say that all three were very educational and helpful in my own training. The material is clearly presented in a way that puts many other martial arts instructional videos to shame. Highly recommended.

This DVD goes through all six forms:
1. Siu Nim Tau
2. Cham Kiu
3. Biu Jee
4. Luk dim Boon Gwan
5. Baat Jaam Do
6. Muk Yan Jong
The first 3 being "empty hand" forms,
4th and 5th are the 6.5 foot pole form and the butterfly knives form.
The 6th and last form is the wooden dummy form.
The DVD is shot professionally, and all 6 forms are shown from 3 camera angles. In the first 5 forms are shown from the 3 camera angles on screen simultaneously. The wooden dummy form is shown from 2 camera angles simultaneously (left and right) with the overhead footage shown last.
You should approach this DVD as a piece of reference material to help memorize the sequence in the forms or to look up a sequence to jog your memory.

I also have to agree with the negative reviews here on this DVD. The forms are done in an ultra sloppy style and to me it seemed like the guys displaying these forms were just going through the motions without understanding anything at all of what the forms are actually about.

I hate to say it but it says a hell of a lot of the Sifu and his teaching method when the demonstrating instructor[?] is chewing gum whilst performing Biu Jee and it isn't even noticed??? I mean hell, it made it into the DVD???

If you want to study Wing Chun, steer clear of this one unless like another reviewer said here; "Get this to see how bad Wing Chun is done!". The other reviewers here that have given this a 4-5 rating, clearly do not know what good Wing Chun is about, which is a shame because it seems to be far to common a occurrence these days.

The DVD is well shot and demonstrates all six forms clearly with several angles visible on screen at the same time. Depending on your needs, you'll either find this is useful visual reference to back up your lessons or a frustratingly brief instructional video.

The DVD states a running time as 30mins but actually the intro plus six demos only seems to take around 15mins, so I'm not sure what else they included (the slideshow?).
