OK, so I have read the last review and I have to say from the start that I have not dealt with the company so I connot make any comment on their customer service. However...
I have had my Windsor electric bike for 18 months now, I use it at least once a week, I follow the battery care instructions to the letter and so far it has given me no cause for concern.
I first got this bike when I was 6 months pregnant and could not keep up with the rest of the familly. It has changed my life! cycling is an absolute pleasure even when I was nine months pregnant I could breeze up the steepest of hills (we live in south Wales), I used a trailer with it for a while when my baby was small and again had no problems with any slope attemted - lots of fun overtaking fit men on racing bikes! I now have the baby in a seat on the back and a shopping basket on the front and we cruise around Cardiff and the Vale with almost no effort. I have to say at this point that all this is probably possible on most electric bikes.
I generally use this bike on peddle power assist which means that I peddle and the moter gives me an extra kick, this way the battery lasts longer - I can get about 20 miles out of it - but does not self charge. I find that the five gears are sufficiant for my current needs however you are limited, speed wise, by the gearing.
The bike is heavy, I cannot lift it onto the car roof rack but my husband can.
All in all, I love this bike but I think it is porbably because it is electric not specifically because it is a Windsor. I am looking to upgrade in the near future and I will look for a bike with better gearing, better brakes and preferably one that will self charge so that I can go further between charges.
