I wrote the dial-up networking chapter (chapter 10) and I can honestly say that many books will miss a great deal of the content that is not included in the Microsoft outline, but WILL be on the test. For example, the original Microsoft outline for chapter 10 contained nothing about VPN or PPTP. These are key components to dial-up networking, so I added them in so that you, the reader, had all of the information. This book is top notch and you won't be disappointed.

not a bad study guide. i bought this one and "mcse windows 98 for dummies" which i thought was better, more up to date.

The book was informative. It offers easy readability, and a well structured format. However, it contains numerous typos, errors, and contradictions which should not be tolerated in a book of this sort. The authors & editors really should have proof-read this book before publishing. However, it is useful when read in conjunction with MCSE Windows 98 for Dummies. One supports the other, for the most part. This book, however, is definately not all it's cracked up to be. Study with other books and aids to ensure you pass the test.

This book is ALMOST enough to pass the test. One should combine this text with the Win98 Resource Kit and self-test software like the kind offered

Not bad. Not great.
I think I would have to put this book in the category of, "Pretty Good". It's better for memorizing facts than actually learning the ins and out of Win98. Read more
