3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but what happened to the Graphics ? 8 July 2012

Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I purchased this book to read on my kindle. I found the book informative going from building a server to installing the software, to configuring it to do the basics and more. I have tried every bit of the advice relating to installing extra roles such as a print server. WSUS server etc. and everything worked seamlesly.
The only critisisms are, firstly too much time is spent showing you how to build a computer from component parts, this really is covered in other books and should have only been mentioned and not have about 20 pages on it. Instead the pages could have been better used to explain troubleshooting techniques for when things dont exactly go to plan. Finally as you get near the end of the book, several comments refer to a graphic, which I assume is a screen dump of the dialog box that you would see if you were actually configuring the server. Unfortunately at least a dozen of these graphics are missing so some parts of the explanations dont make sense.
overall this is a decent book, and you will acheive your goal of installing the software and getting the server up and running. Just a pity about the graphics.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic book if you use WHS 2011 20 Oct 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I bought this book direct from WeGotServed in PDF and Ebook format, was a lot cheaper than Amazon too.

The Ebook format was absolutely poor in it's layout and quite unreadable on my Kindle.

The PDF version is great and is easily readable on my iPad and has the graphics too.

Fantastic book for WHS's helped me get so much more out of our server.

Well worth buying if you run WHS 2011 and need a hand!

2.0 out of 5 stars Formatting! 27 Aug 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have to say this is the first and probably last Kindle Book I will buy. Yes the information in the book is exactly what I needed but unfortunately the content is let down by extremely poor formatting on Kindle for PC, cant; really compare the iphone version to a PC screen.

Try as I might to configure Kindle for PC to display the book like a book I get about 5-10 lines of text with large spacing between the lines and small graphics that I can't make bigger to see what its showing and the graphic if it appears may not be on the same page it was intended for. I'm half way through the book and its really annoying me that I paid £12.99 for something that just isn't being displayed right. I did not know about the ebook refund only being valid for 7 days, how was I supposed to know that half way through the book graphics start disappearing.
