Product Description

Synopsis

This guide to Windows NT database development using Microsoft's SQL Server introduces the capabilities of SQL Server and its core concepts. It guides the reader through basic SQL Server database management functions, such as creating databases, tables and views. The book also focuses on primary database application envelopment methodologies, providing both a broad picture of the primary development tools that are available for SQL Server and practical examples using each database access method. Coverage of both NT 4.0 and Server 7.0 are included. Windows NT is Microsoft's network operating system. It was first introduced three years ago, but it didn't make much headway in the marketplace due to a lack of sophistication in its technology. Hovever, with the release of Windows NT 4.0, Microsoft has produced a powerful, multi-purpose network operating system that is easy to administer, flexible, scaleable and is further expanded by its built-in Internet/Intranet and communication services. NT 4.0 competes head-on with UNIX and NetWare as a comprehensive solution to enterprise-wide computing. Indications show that Windows NT is steadily gaining market share.
