i have a hp touch smart computer with windows vista home premium version. this operating system has now crashed. the recovery partition is also corrupted. i keep getting blue screens. hp have been very unhelpful and no longer make recovery disks for this computer. hp charged me almost £36 to tell me to buy a new computer. my question is: can i easily install a version of windows 7 on this computer or is it safer to install a windows vista version? hp did not provide recovery disks (nor an operating system cd) when i bought this computer in 2009 for £1200. having bought the license once, ihave to now buy it a second time. i will never buy anything again from hp. i would be very grateful for any help on my question above whether to stick with reinstalling vista or upgrade to windows 7.? if windows 7 what are the issues i should be careful with. thank you very much.
