I bough this to hold a dash cam in the car - having had a bad experience with an item that was specifically for such use, which ended in abject failure. This mount holds a Canon A1100 camera (minus batteries - powered by a cigar lighter gizmo) and I am able to record car journeys of up to 4 hours.

In use, the mount feels sturdy and solid and stays in place. It may be that due to the location of the mount - on the dash itself - the suction cup comes unstuck sometimes, after an hour or so of travel. However, as long as the potential for it to come loose is understood, then it's not a problem resetting it every now and then in order to ensure it will hold. Probably, if th mount was attached directly to the window glass, it might work better but given the dimensions of the camera I am using and the slope of the windscreen, this is not a practical option.

Anyway, for what it cost and in comparison to the other device that failed, I am satisfied with it so far.

Perfect for hold the camera to the cars windows and body work. It held mounted outside the car on the top of the windscreen at 70mph. Can't say better than that

This is the worst suction cup I have ever bought, it continually falls off the windscreen I would advise anyone NOT to waste you money get a better one, this one keeps losing adhesion with the glass, I have stopped using it now and got another make
