OK, Window In The Skies, far from U2 at its best but an OK effort. Has a rather Beatlesque quality to the song, and a superb video to match, definitely worth a view!! Anyway, the best thing about this single isnt the single itself, its the live tracks that accompany it. Zoo Station has to be one of U2's finest moments, (especially with the lyrics) and this is a great live version taken from their performance at Buenos Aires this year during the Vertigo Tour.
However, the next track, Kite is real gem. This live track was performed in Sydney, the last song to be played at this particular concert on 10th November 2006. I always thought this was a beautiful song and certainly a highlight from the All That You Can't Leave behind album, but this live version gives this song all new depth. A moving performance with an accompanying digeridoo and a great guitar solo from The Edge at the end. To any U2 fans this single is worth the pennies!!

For my money, the best U2 single ever

Others may beg to differ, but I'd rate this single right up with the best U2 has ever released. I LOVE the Beatle-esque "Window in the Skies" (recorded, not surprisingly, at Abbey Road Studios in London). It's upbeat and positive, and Bono's voice sounds beautiful.
However, you can't, of course, rate a U2 single without considering the "B-Sides," and the extra tracks are what make this single so great. Whenever I look for U2 singles, I always look for live tracks, because I think U2 sounds even better live. In this case, "Zoo Station," one of my all-time favorite U2 songs, sounds better than ever--crystal clear, with crunching guitars and heavy rhythms. The next song, "Kite," never really did it for me up until now, but this nine-minute epic recorded in Sydney, Australia, has made me a full convert.
If you like U2, you simply must buy this.

Best Live Version of KITE anywhere.

Even if you already have U218, this single is a "must get" if you call yourself a fan of U2. As others have posted, this live version of Kite from Sydney, Australia is amazing. Forget Live in Boston, forget Slane Castle. Those are good and adequate live versions of this song but this one is the best because of Edge's extended guitar solo. Edge must have the frequency of heaven wired through his guitar or something because angels weep when he plays on this track. If U2 doesn't incorporate it permanently into all future live performances, it will be a disappointment.
Make sure to get this version with the live tracks of Zoo Station and Kite because there are other versions of this single out there that don't have these bonus tracks.
Buy the thing already. You won't be sorry.

Their Skies Still Remain Clear

There is just so much you can really say about U2. Nearly 30 years together, and they still haven't lost their luster as one of the most successful groups of all time. Their latest single continues to show how potent they are as a popular rock group. Window In The Skies, the second single from the groups' third greatest hits record U218 Singles is a upbeat and soulful song that captures them in delightful harmony. I like this song a whole lot, because there really isn't anything good on radio right now. I just hope that there is more new stuff coming up from U2 soon.
