5.0 out of 5 stars The Wind in the Willows, 23 Aug 2009
This classic version of The Wind in the Willows is made extra special by the totally lovely illustrations. I have two boys (8 and 5) who are carried away by this story every evening. I have to paraphrase some of the more dated expressions as I go along, but the illustrations give the story a real sense of place.

I have loved this novel since I read it first when I was a child, some fifteen or so years ago. I was absolutely enthralled by its deep warmth and beauty. Since than I've always wanted to have an illustrated edition of my own, and this book was absolutely spot on. Beautiful illustrations, labour of love, and the text that still gives me that warm feeling inside. And of course the price and quality of print make it all value for money. Highly recommended for anyone who loves Grahame's masterpiece.

Everyone knows this is a beautifully written story, and this book is also beautifully illustrated - a joy to own. (Children in the household are not obligatory - adults should feel free to read and savour this book on their own!)
