The splendor of Olympic National Park beckons, and Hannah and her cousin, Jonah, are eager to explore the many hiking trails. Following a path that leads them deep into a forest of gigantic Sitka spruce and western red cedar, they enter a world created before Time began. The adventure, however, takes a turn when Hannah loses sight of Jonah. Soon she is wandering alone in the eerie, primordial silence, unable to find her way back to their cabin. Night wraps her in its blanket of darkness and misty rain. She seeks shelter under a massive rotting log and stays there overnight, huddled in misery. When Hannah awakes the next morning, the unbelievable has happened. She is lost in a world that Time has forgotten.
