5.0 out of 5 stars A must for everyone interested in Wind Power business and Technology, 4 Jul 2008
By A. Lopes (Portugal) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is a very well written book, covering all the aspects in wind power business It goes from the very basics of the wind resource, to the project economics and environmental impact, including also other aspects related with the turbine technology (electrical, mechanical, aerodynamics, control) and electrical network integration.
Of course that no one will be an imediate expert ready to embrace a wind farm project after reading the book. But there are no such books, right? only experience will give that. Anyhow this is a good startup and I definetely recomend it for anyone interested in this area.

3.0 out of 5 stars Correct, 16 Sep 2009
By J. Merino "Jume" (Barcelona, Spain) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This book covers all the aspects related with horizontal wind turbines, (meteorology, aerodynamics, mechanics, structural, electrical, control, economics, ...), what I said, "ALL".

Having such a huge scope it's unavoidable being what we call in Spain "apprentice of everything, master of anything".
All the topics are just presented, with more or less detail, and having into account the intensive Physics, Engineering and Maths needed to give properly explanations, the authors rely in the reader technical background or they directly redirect you to a more specialised readings.

That's neither good nor bad, It only depends on what are you expecting from this book.
- You want an "introduction" to the wind turbines world and you have a good technical background, this is a perfect book.
- You want a deep detailed coverage of some aspects of the wind turbines, you'd better get a more scope-restricted rigorous book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good and complete explanation but no worked examples, 4 April 2009
This book explained in detail and thorough about wind energy. the bad things are no worked examples at all, the authors mentioned many times the word 'yaw' but forgot to explained what it is. the quality of pictures are just fair
