I used this in my giant cupcake cake tin and whilst i can't dispute the fact that it did make the cake slide out nicely, the cake was burnt where it had touched the 'cake release' in the tin. I made another one using the usual butter and flour method and it fell out just as easily and wasn't burnt at all. I will not be using it again that's for sure. Stick to the tried and tested methods and save some money to boot!

I have been using this product for a couple of years and it is absolutely fantastic. You use it to grease tins and other bakeware - the resultant cakes and pastries slide out with ease. It is much easier to use this instead of messing around with alternatives - the mixture is just squeezed out, spread with a pastry brush and you are then ready to go. I would not be without it when baking anything. It is suitable for vegetarians.

I bought this product hoping to use it on family cakes, but was very disapointed to discover when it arrived that the ingredient list stated that it "may contain" just about every known allergen to man (really not kidding here, never seen anything like it). Speaking as a mum of a child with a life threatening allergy, poorly labelled food makes our lives very difficult. We need to know what our food ACTUALLY contains. Speaking as a technical manager and food technologist, Wilton pull your socks up, this kind of sloppy labeling isn't good enough... and just what kind of processing plant are you using that you have all of these different allergens present in?
Had the ingredients been listed fully before purchasing, of course I wouldn't have bothered, but we live and learn.

No more sticky cakes.
I have used this roduct many time sand found it invaluable especially for cake tins with lots of mouldings i.e Novelty cake tins. It certainly neats the grease and flour routine. Read more
