Product Description

The new 2011 Wilson Di11 Steel Irons are the most forgiving irons made by Wilson Staff. The aggressively-designed Di11 is the longest set of irons ever produced by Wilson Golf. The Mens 5-SW set consists of 7 irons: #5, #6, #7 ,#8 ,#9 irons, a pitching wedge and a sand wedge. Options available: Mens Left Hand - Uniflex (All clubs are 1" longer and 2 degrees upright), Right Mens Hand - Regular flex. The Wilson Staff Di11 Irons pull weight low and offers a higher ball flight. The ultra-wide sole is designed to enhance turf interaction. Weight is taken from the edge of the face and inside the cavity towards the heel to create a large, unsupported face. The urethane medallion from the Di9 was removed to pick up weight and substituted by a coating of lightweight elastomer used on the underside of bridges to reduce vibration from traffic. The Wilson Di11 Irons have a new, large sweetspot stretched across the entire face of the club which is larger than most irons to make them more forgiving. The sweetspot stretches to the toe area where most amateur mis-hits happen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent all round irons! 28 July 2012
Like ALL Wilson Irons these are made to a high standard... everything from the cast heads, steel "fat shaft" and the grip are made to last and most certainly will be the only irons you will need for many years to come. These will especially suit high/medium handicap golfers and even beginners who want a set of clubs that will aid their game.

Wilson has always been known for making clubs that have a lot of forgiveness, these are no different, the heads are slightly recessed and because of their cavity back are as easy as any irons to hit. These also have a high launch angle, making it easier to get the ball into the air. The steel shaft does flex but because of the "fat shaft" design there is less twisting of the club head meaning that it's easier to hit the ball straight.

Don't buy these irons if Distance is your only interest... these are made with accuracy, control and ease of hitting the ball in mind, which to most players is more important. I myself owned the predecessor set of golf clubs to these and they were fantastic, but these are better and are easier to use with more forgiveness if you screw up on occasion.

If you didn't know, Wilson irons are very classic in their design and have a large sweet spot... The Wilson DXI driver is a club i can also recommend to purchase along with these if you want control and ease of getting the ball into the air and keeping it straight! (although the best driver I've come across to date is the Cobra AMP Driver which is the perfect driver for high handicap golfers - which i am at 22)

Time to round up these irons though

PROS: Everything near enough...

5.0 out of 5 stars Game improvment. 13 Oct 2013
I've only played the one round with them so far and I can feel the improvement. Obviously they won't iron out technique faults, but every shot off the tee had height and distance, I will have to work on the consistency of accuracy bit myself. Even from the ground I was lifting the ball and making distance, not one topped shot that travels 2 yards.
I feel more confident using these clubs.
Excellent buy

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely irons for high to mid handicap 8 Sep 2011
Anything hit nice with these irons seem to fly. Anything thinned still goes a good distance. Amazing forgiveness and a good buy for any new golf player!
