Amazon.co.uk Review

Willy loves football but can't afford any boots. He goes to practice every week, but no-one passes him the ball and he's never picked for the team. One night he meets a strange footballing figure who gives him a pair of boots. From this night on, Willy is a football star who can do no wrong and he gets picked for the team. 5.0 out of 5 stars Spellbinding, 6 Jan 2006
By A Customer
I read this book today to a whole school assembly of 180 children aged 3-11. They were gripped, to the extent that I was able to really get into the story, slowing the pace at the correct time and varying the way it was read, all the things you hope to be able to do, but difficult to achieve with a large varied group. Even the staff listened, which is a real rarity. A gem of a book, with strong messages, repetition and the usual wonderful pictures. Buy it.
