About the Author

Willie Harcourt-Cooze grew up on a windswept island off the west coast of Ireland where a childhood spent making cheese, smoking fish and pickling fruit inspired his enduring passion for food and adventure. After travelling in Asia and South America, it was in Venezuela that Willie discovered his lifetime passion for chocolate, bought a hacienda and planted 10,000 cacao trees. His first book, Willie's Chocolate Factory Cookbook, was published by Hodder & Stoughton in 2009. He lives with his wife Tania and their three children in Devon and makes chocolate from bean to bar.

Nice book. Lovely pictures. Ace recipes. My only complain is that I cannot legitimately cook them all and eat them unless I have guests as otherwise I will become a heifer.

5.0 out of 5 stars A chocoholic's dream ! 11 Jan 2011
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I love this book - it is full of the most delicious-sounding recipes. I have just finished reading it and have ear-marked so many recipes to try, I can't wait to get cooking !

I also like the story he tells about how he developed his chocolate business - he is a true chocolate fanatic

I must confess that I'm not brave enough to try any of the savoury cacoa recipes - they are probably delicious but I'm a bit of a wimp ! Maybe some other reviewer will tell us how the savoury ones work out ? then i'll have a go

For now, I will concentrate on the wonderful cakes, ices, mousses and ice-creams - my taste buds are tingling in anticipation !

3.0 out of 5 stars chocoholics 21 Oct 2011

Chocolate Bible had lots of interesting recipes both savoury and sweet but the chocolate in the recipes is all Willie's own which cost a fortune of his website. I replaced it with supermarket brands and recipes still tasted good.
