I just had to buy this book when I saw it as my son's name is William, however it's proved to be one of his favourites.

By putting your finger in a whole at the back of the book you can make William come to life and wriggle away from dangers such as a cheeky magpie and a hungry hedgehog.

The publishers reccommend this book for 2+ and although my 8 month old son isn't all that interested in the story just yet he already loves to watch William wiggling about. The basic idea of the story is that William tries to 'wriggle away' from danger, however I think my son is his biggest threat as he loves to grab at him and even eat him (thanks to the joys of young children putting everything in their mouths).

I'd reccommend this book to anyone, even if their name isn't William!!

William Worm is a bright cheerful looking puppet who wriggles his way through the pages of this delightful book. Unlike some puppet books there is nothing scary about William and he will be loved by the youngest of audiences.

The puppet part is easy to use as you can fit 2 whole fingers into it and he is able to 'look right, look left, look all around' (which is part of the story on every page) and can encourage early awareness of the concepts 'left and right' (although you will have to remember which is which, from the perspective of your audience ;)

The biggest drawback to this book, is also it's biggest appeal - William is so adorable that toddlers will want to grab him and play with him themselves, so a bit of extra supervision might be required to ensure that he doesn't meet and untimely demise!

Buy this book and you will spend many happy hours with your child and William!

I got this book based on the others' reviews. I'm pleased i did, my kids (2years old) love it. The book is a lovely mix of a puppet/pop-up book, each page has a pop-up picture at the top. The story is easy to memorise (for the reading adult) and easy to join in (for the children) as the same lines are repeated on each page.
