Hello. In theory the Samsung Blu Ray DVD Player/recorder should work with the Lenovo, I gave it a try and it was a really slow process to set it up, far from the plug n play it should have been. I never actually managed to get it to playback any DVD let alone burn a DVD. Additional software has to be downloaded from a third party. I did this as instructed, again it took ages and never really worked, I was still unable to play or burn any DVD. Plus I noted the additional software required a subscription following the initial evaluation period. I gave up and returned the Samsung mini thin DVD equipment.

If your ideapad is running a Microsoft Windows operating system the answer is yes. The cd supplied has the software drivers you need. If you are running Mac or Android software the answer is no unless you download additional third party software which might cost you more cash.
