Book Description

6 April 2006
Will and Squill have been friends ever since they were both tiny. Neither of their mums are happy about it. 'Dirty little squirrel', says Will's mum. 'Dirty little baby,' says Squill's. But Will and Squill understand one another, and they have great fun together. Then Will gets a kitten, and Squill gets jealous, so they quarrel. But the kitten spends too much time sleeping, and Will misses Squill. He wants his old friend back. 'Will you say "sorry"?' he asks him. 'I squill if you squill,' says Squill.

By ELH Browning TOP 1000 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Hardcover
This book is a wonderfully warm story of a little boy and a little squirrell who meet when they're small and have an instant bond despite the disapproval of both their mothers. Despite being different animals Will and Squill are cut from the same cloth and found plenty of things to do together. My 4 year-old daughter laughs at the word-play and almost-tongue-twisters of "Squill will if Will will," and ' "You look silly", " I feel squilly"' But then Will is distracted from Squill, the two fall out, are lonely apart and then there's the inevitable reconciliation. It's a gentle tale with Chichester Clark's usual appealing illustrations and. I hope to see more of this amusing duo over the next year or two, particularly as my youngest son (1) is called Will. 5.0 out of 5 stars Squilly fun 28 Nov 2009
Format:Paperback
This is one of those books that you don't mind reading again and again (and again). My three year old son loves this book. The text is funny and the illustrations wonderful. We had this out from the library but needed to buy our own copy because you can only renew it so many times. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Will and Squill 15 July 2009
Format:Paperback
A great childrens book by Emma Chichester Clark (also author of the Blue Kangaroo books). It tells of a friendship which breaks when compromise isn't reached, but returns when it happens. Clever language use will captivate the reader of all ages.

5.0 out of 5 stars A hit! 2 Jun 2009
Format:Paperback
My 4 year old son adores this book. I got it from the library but had to buy him his own copy after renewing it at his request for the fourth time. To be honest, when I first read it I wasn't exactly enamoured, but the more I read it to him the more we both loved it. My son (and I) are constantly saying 'I will if you squill' and then 'I squill if you will'. Silly stuff, just perfect for a pre-schooler. I hope to see more of Will and Squill as I could 'read' this blindfold!
