There are virtually no books on this topic, so I was inspired to see that someone had the guts to overcome societal taboo and write a book for the other woman. It's actually really quite disappointing that there are not several more to choose from as I know many, many people in this deeply painful situation (before and after being there myself).

What I liked about the book is that the author is calming and non-judgmental. She analyses the types of affairs (not super detailed but enough to sort of see where you might be) and the thoughts, feelings and position of each participant in the love triangle. This helps better understanding but also inspires empathy for those involved.

What I really feel is missing are several chapters that could have described the challenges and scenarios of what could happen in the event that he wants to leave his wife for you. My partner finally got the courage to initiate his leaving (after being with me for over 2 years) yet we have hit obstacle after obstacle including toxic guilt, his wife's various manipulations to prevent this from happening, his unsupportive family (you just don't do these things in certain societies no matter how miserable you are) and loads of emotional turmoil that he has faced dealing with the mourning of his past life while trying to create a new one.

Instead, the author jumps from 'He Decides to Leave' to 'You and He Marry'. Wow, there are tons of things in between which I did not have the foresight to see. If this book had those 'missing chapters', I would have protected myself a bit more from those possibilities and would have hopefully gotten less hurt along the way.

I could not put this book down she took the time to research
this information. This book really changed my life and made ne see what I was giving up. I am glad that this book was written. It will make you think hard about a lot of decisions we make concerning our life.
