Product Description

Product Description

Following on from The Heir to Longbourn, this is the second in Laurence Fleming's trilogy of sequels to Pride and Prejudice. Once again Fleming is on sparkling form, illuminating Jane Austen's world to perfection, capturing her style enerringly. A great heiress breaks on the London scene, beneficiary of the death of Lady Catherine de Bourgh. But who is she, and how does the story unfold? A witty and wily treat for any fan of Jane Austen.

By Jay
Format:Paperback
I read the three books by Laurence Fleming in this series and thought they were excellent. They followed the lives of Darcy and Elizabeth from the birth of their second daughter to the expectation of their fourth child. Unlike Jane Austen's books, there was no great drama, but they were an interesting mix of the characters from several of her books. Written as Jane would have written, without unnecessary bedroom scenes, and in suitable language without Americanisms. What a pity Laurence Fleming has not continued the series.
