This was the first of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Portfolios I ever bought. The spine is a bit sun faded now, but it still sits proudly amongst the rest of my collection. For me the lighting of the elephant feeding (page 15), the action of the monkeys running (page 92) and the Colours of Beech trees in Hoar Frost (page 73) are the highlights, although there are many other equally stunning shots.
A couple of the larger pictures run across two pages, notably Frans Lantings Emperor Penguin Colony on pages 136-137 and Doug Allans Guillemots Diving on pages 94-95. I don't find this as troubling as some reviewers appear to. If you want large images, what do you expect. Anyway, it only occurs on a few images.
For me, if you want to see wildlife photography at its best then you can't go far wrong with any of the series of portfolios. Another winner.
