Having recently taken a serious interest in the fauna of the Lizard, whose cliffs know my foot mark all to well from wrecking and serpentine spotting, and armed with my trusty camera, i set out to do some macro photography of the amazing flowers spread across the peninsula... i almost immediately stumbled across this excellent book (not on the cliffs i may add, reads odd that bit!) by David Chapman. His photography alone is worth the cover price. Add in the short but concise descriptions, its perfect size for the rucksack and this is a must for .... well anyone really! Wild Flowers are such an important part of the earths natural jewellery...and a reminder that pesticides play no part in the success of natural beauty...

As with the other two books by the same author, great book that really lends itself to being included and used on a day out in Cornwall. I bought the book to help with identification as part of a SPA climbing course and I would highly recommend to anybody doing any outdoors courses in the south west. The book is also great to take along on a days walking just to help show you how much plant life is lying at your feet.

Great photography, most of the Cornwall species featured and helpful descriptions to refer / remember. However, a little thin on anything "extra" - so much scope in such a book for interesting additional points such as complimentary species such as butterflies or ancient uses, or indeed local names of the flowers. Anyway, far from disappointed.
