What Readers Say:
"A true American west adventure. It makes you cry, it makes you wish, and it makes you dream. It's what a romance novel is all about."

"The Wildest Heart kept me captivated well beyond the last page...beyond the last word...Ro and Luke continue to wander out there in the southwest, two truly 'wild hearts.'"

Passionate, headstrong Lady Rowena Dangerfield and dark, dangerous outlaw Lucas Cord... two destinies intertwined under the blazing New Mexico sun...

Lady Rowena Dangerfield travels from the exotic palaces of India to the splendor of the Royal Court of London to the savage New Mexico frontier to lay claim

to her inheritance and live freely as only she would dare. In the violent, untamed American Southwest, she finally meets a man as strong as she is: Lucas Cord, a dark, dangerously handsome, half-Apache outlaw.

Fighting scandal, treachery, and murder, Luke is determined to have Rowena for his own, and as their all-consuming passion mounts, no one is going to stop him...

2.0 out of 5 stars Dissapointing 22 Oct 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Being a faithful Rosemary Rogers reader, I was very dissapointed by this book. It was totally different to all her other books and I found the story tragic and sad. Unlike her previous work where I am glued to the story line until the end, I struggled to read this to the end and found the characters unlikeable and the story too confronting. Instead of being swept away on a romantic adventure I was left feeling disturbed.

5.0 out of 5 stars An epic romance 18 Dec 2008
Rosemary Rogers has done it again - an exciting passionate romance where a young innocent from a Spanish Convent has her life turned upside down. Love and adventure and intrigue from a Sultan's haram, an English court and the wilds of Louisiana. Marisa has a love hate relationship with her nemises Dominic Challenger a roving sea captain who does not know if he want to love Marisa or kill her. A very tempestuous romance and a great read.

1.0 out of 5 stars Ooops! 30 Mar 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I bought this book after a discussion with a friend about what we used to read as girls. I first read this when I was about 17/18 and remember absolutely loving it, have you ever gone to bed early just so you can get back into the world you inhabit in a really good book? That's jowls great I rated thus book then. So imagine my horror as I settled to rediscover that feeling and instead read a misogynistic, quite disturbing book about a woman pushed time and time again into having sex when she doesn't want to - oh she ALWAYS realises she actually does want sex when her desires overcome her initial reaction of "No" and all because she really, underneath it all, loves the man forcing her. What was I thinking? Had I never heard on women's oppression? Was I really OK with reading about how a woman really means yes, even if she is saying no to sex? Did I really think this was a love story? I have placed this book firmly where it belongs - at the bottom of my wheelie bin. I didn't have the stomach to finish it this time round, good grief! You would have hoped these " bodice rippers" were no longer in print, but if there are other women out there who fondly remember a book from their youth, take heed, it could make you cringe in horror ad this one did me

I have not read a Rosemary Rogers book for many years. This one was excellent, loved it. Great story teller, this book is really difficult to put down and so disappointing when finished, you want it to go on and on!
