3.0 out of 5 stars Thanks goodness for the secondary romance 9 Oct 2008
By Tracy Vest - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
All rancher Rand wants to do is buy the land next door and expand his horse ranch... then sexy Celeste inherits the land and her motley petting zoo crew move in and his life changes before his eyes. Figuring she's bound to fail (hello - a petting zoo in a relatively isolated non-tourist location?), he'll wait it out then swoop in and get the land for a song. The only problem is that he feels a real attraction to the flaky Celeste. Will the straight laced rancher be able to find true love with a woman whose rose colored glasses filter out all logic?

Wells is known for her cute and quirky opposites attract romances, and this one follows her formula. I found it hard to fathom a romance between the two since they were so totally opposite that they really didn't compliment each other. And Celeste was a little too much of a fruitcake for this jaded reader. But Wells did a smart thing - she added a secondary couple with a much more compelling romance that although brief, overshadows her two protagonists. Read this one for the romance between former fiances George and Sarah - they are the real stars in this often frustrating story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Readers will be wild about Robin Wells 2 July 2003
By Harriet Klausner - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
In Louisiana, Rand Adams owns and operates The Circle A Ranch where he hopes to one-day breed and train world class quarter horses. He is all business, logically approaching life and his ranch in a methodical manner.

Moving next door to Rand is anachronistic hippie Celeste Landry. She opens up the Wild Things Fun Farm, a children's petting zoo. Her spread is loaded with circus retirees or rejects and other weird creatures. She feels fate controls life and her farm seems vry haphazardly managed.

No neighbors could be more different in outlook than Celeste and Rand. No two people on the planet could see life as differently as these two see things. In spite of her belief that he is a stubborn stuck in the mud and his conviction that she is a flower child born three decades too late, they fall in love. However, they will need four-legged assistance to help them find a mutually joining manner.

Readers will be wild about Robin Wells after reading these amusing opposites attract contemporary romance. The lead couple provides plenty of fun as they fuss and fight while falling in love in front of an assortment of jovial animals.

My favorite part in the book is when the police officer is asking Celeste about her monkey. It'll make you laugh out loud. Pretty good story overall. Easy read.
