Perfect vintage style!,

This is a perfect phone for that period look. It really does replicate the original well (we have an original 40's Bakelite version which sadly has appalling sound quality unlike this modern version). The bell ring is identical to our original and the push button dialling cleverly disguised as rotary certainly saves fingernails! The handset is of a good weight and sends and receives sound very clearly. The little touches such as the button marked `operator' and the `wait for dial tone' lettering all add to a convincing look. All in all the best of both worlds with its traditional styling and its contemporary technology.

A proper telephone,

This is a nice, solid telephone. The receiver is quite heavy and an attractive shape which is pleasant to hold and it sits well on an old desk. It has a proper ring and the sound quality during a conversation is good. It is a good quality dull black plastic which is of a bakelite type.
Dialling is by push button; I think I would have liked a chrome rotating dial better. Glad I bought it.

After having several wireless phones in the house, and continuing reception problems, I officially gave up and went back to a landline phone. With that in mind, i wanted something a little retro and a little bit different to any of the modern versions on the market.
I love this phone, the ring tone (slightly Amityville horror), and the look and feel to the phone. The reception, being a landline, is a 100 times better. Literally the oddity is getting used to the push button numbers being in a circle again. I also bought a black 1950s retro phone which was equally as fab, but it takes longer to dial as the it has the circular dialling mechanism.
