What the book says . . . . .

As soon as she laid eyes on him, her animal instincts took over.

For generations, the MacInnes werewolves have been guarding the portal between Earth and the Drakkyn realm. Bastian and his sister came through the portal from Drakkyn, seeking sanctuary in the beautiful Scottish Highlands and relief from the curse that haunts him. Solitary and despairing, Bastian must find a way to break the curse or it will kill him.

A family squabble 25 years ago drove a rift between the MacInnes alpha and his brother, and Catrionna MacInnes has never met her MacInnes relatives nor had any guidance in how to be a werewolf. When her father brings his family to Scotland seeking reconciliation, Cat lays eyes on Bastian, and her most basic animal instincts kick in. Bastian tries to resist Cat - no good can come of their attraction - but she won't take no for an answer. She knows that all she wants - what she must have - is to mark him as her own.

What I think . . . . .

The third book in this series and undoubtably the best. The twists and turns keep you going and the romance isn't bad. I would definitely be recommending all three of the books to anyone willing to listen.

This is a fitting climax to the series so far, and to get the full benefit of this most enjoyable book you really do need to have read the first and second, first: 'Call of the Highland Moon' and 'Dark Highland Fire.' I found the pricing structure of the Kindle versions very confusing and am at a loss to understand why the 3rd in the series should sell at approximately a 1/4 of the cost of the 2nd, and the 2nd at twice the cost of the 1st??
That being said it was worth every penny.

Fast, energetic in ALL types of action. It neatly brings the various story threads of the MacInnes werewolves together in a tale that is, in my opinion, a cut above the average of its genre. I like the way its characters interlink and react to one another although I did had a bit of a problem with the whimpish Uncle who sired 3 most un-whimp like daughters. The happy ending bit for the good and the not so good but not really bad,guys, does not hurt the story at all. A cracking read, thorougly recommend it and await with interest where the series goes from here or if this is FIN.?

I am in the middle of this book and I love it. The characters are well drawn, the magical conflict is clear and the premise is excellent. I now will have to go read the first two in the series to catch up. I hope the author writes more in this series because it is excellent and I will definitely be watching this author for more books.
