Some foraging books have rubbish pictures but good content, some have really good pictures but no real substance. This book is different it has it all! It covers when to look for plants, has superb photos of what they look like, loads of folklore which helps give a story to remember plants by, size of plants so you know what to look for, lookalikes so you know what not to look for and where the plants grow. As a person who takes people on wild plant identification walks this book could put me out of a job!
Everyone gets ill and everyone gives a fortune to drug companies, don't bother and get this book instead. I could not reccomend this book any more.

this is a wonderful book which reveals nature in it's basic and simple sense.
Why pay for manufactured drugs which may have untold unknown side effects which result with lining company profits.
Back to basics with a very comprehensive educated guidance of the healing effects of what is living around us.

Good beginner's herbal 12 April 2011
By TCM - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Sadly, I simply don't have time, money or space for another beginner's herbal book, but I just ran across a very nice review of this book by one of the herbal world's treasures, Henriette Kress. She said this is a fine beginner's book and wished she had had it in the beginning of her herbal career. That's certainly a gold star! To read her review go to her site by simply searching for her name, she's very well represented on the web. I am posting this second-hand recommendation because it's so nice and necessary to find good beginner's herb books because there's so much unreliable trash info about herbs out there these days.
