Product details

Product Description

The Wild Country Sololite is a truly versatile one person tent. With a packed weight of less than 2 kg it is ideal for the lightweight backpacker on a budget. There are no sacrifices in quality either with lightweight DAC poles, alloy v-angle pegs, and fully taped seams making this tent suitable for 3-4 season backpacking.Pitching flysheet first and using colour coded pole tips makes it a doddle to set up, and the clever pole and inner design means stability and internal space are maximised. The real ace-up the sleeve for this tent however is the retractable inner. This allows you to increase the porch space for cooking whilst shortening the inner to 190 cms, leaving plenty of room to lie down - kettle on - and enjoy the view!Other neat touches include reflective door trim and guylines, and poles that collapse down to 38 cms - small enough for most cycle panniers.

I like this tent for the most part. It will keep you really warm and should be suitable for a light winters. The tent is extremely warm. I used it in the badlands in New Mexico it dropped to 50 F at night I could not sleep in the tent it was way too warm even out of my sleeping bag and with the door open. I also used it in Colorado at high elevations 12k temps dropped below freezing and I was nice and toasty. I have been inside the tent during a heavy rainstorm and I stayed dry Its great for temps around 15 to 40. The tent is small on the inside in fact I can not sit up inside the tent and when I lay on my back my toes touch the inside of the tent. To get inside you have to get on your hands and knees and crawl backwards. Make sure you have a ground sheet outside the entrance otherwise you are going to track a bunch of mud and dirt inside the tent. Also don's buy the ground sheet that claims to go with the tent it does not match the tent. I am taller then average 6' 3". If you are 5' 10" or shorter you will be fine.
