Product Description

Briana Fox is the wildest girl in school. She and Kyle have been close for a long time...almost lovers. But Kyle is afraid that if he pushes her, he'll have his heart broken and lose his best friend. When Briana challenges him to a swim across the lake, she's injured in a horrific accident, but she discovers a mysterious substance in an underwater cave that saves her life. What seems to be a magical yet harmless "power drug" invokes superhuman abilities, and Briana soon becomes dependent on it for her very survival. When two government agents learn of the discovery, they will stop at nothing to find the source and turn Briana into a human experiment. Is Kyle willing to risk everything to protect his love?

4.0 out of 5 stars A Wild Ride. 24 July 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
A boy takes his Dad's boat without permission to go out on a lake with the friend he's not meant to be with. While out on the water there's an accident and Wild Child deals with the aftermath of that accident, and with what might have been.

My big complaint with this book is that it's too short! Also, the ending left me wanting to turn the (virtual) page and look for more, what happens next? How does Kyle feel after what he did? Does he go back?

Will there be a sequel?

Aha! Looking at Mike's Amazon author page, there will be a sequel and it looks like Kyle does go back.... Excellent.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Superb Sunday Morning! 16 Oct 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Having followed and being followed by Mike on twitter, I looked up Wild Child last week and got set reading it on a grey boring Sunday morning, within seconds I was hooked the two hours of my morning evaporated into the town by the lake, the world of Kyle, Brie & the green water. The tension of their relationship and government pursuit was well paced and if honest I feel, the novel was a perfect length. A superb read and as a free download you simply cannot go wrong!
I know myself the difficulty independent authors go through in order to get their work across and this sums up how great lots of our untapped talent is. Brilliant work Mike!

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable 13 Jan 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I am not a si-fi fan but as this was free and short I thought it was worth a try and I was not disappointed. At the beginning I was a little worried it was going to be a cocoon spin-off but it quickly took a direction of its own. It is a believable story (in an 'out there' kind of way) and kept me entertained. I was not actually disappointed by its length as, even though it is a shorty, it had enough story content to make it complete and did not leave me thinking about where the rest of it was.

I do have to say that I was disappointed by a number of the other reviews which felt the need to practically write the whole storyline within the review. This is the first book I have seen do it to such an extreme. I really like to read others reviews on book, good and bad, but don't appreciate having the whole story told to me before I have had a chance to read the book myself.

1.0 out of 5 stars How wild can you get
Didn't enjoy this book at all. It was obviously written for a younger readership than me and the story line seemed too unbelievable.
