About the Author
Jeanne Willis has had a successful career working in advertising and as an author, writing over eighty picture books, poetry books, television scripts and novels for children. Her teenage novel Naked Without a Hat was shortlisted for the 2003 Whitbread Children's Book Award and Dumb Creatures was longlisted for the 2005 Carnegie Medal. I bought the book on the recommendation of a friend and I have to say that this is a girl's delight!
There is true imagination at play in this work of art as we wend our way through the truly magical pictures that delight and surprise. The narrative puts into words the thoughts that so many children must have in a truly wonderful way.
I look forward to spending time pouring over this book, exploring the pictures, with my great nieces!

Wild Child tells a lovely fairy tale story about a little girl living in the wild and all the wonderful things she experiences whilst the other children are forced to behave, act politely and do as they are told. Lovely, funny story and absolutely beautifully illustrated.
A simple but different and clever story which has my 2 year old fascinated and engrossed in the pictures from beginning to end. The great thing is I love reading it too.
I'm so glad I came across this book, it's unique theme and outstanding illustrations will keep us returning to it again and again i'm sure.
Highly recommend.

The art work by Lorna Freytag in this book is exceptional ,full of imagination . The story is really told by the art work lots and lots to see for a child. I would recommend this to everyone. The story is a good one between the illustrator and the author a good book for bed time or any time. well done. I will be looking out for the next book by Lorna Freytag.
