Product Description

Product Description

Children love animals - this book uses stunning photography and colorful maps combine to make this a fun and informative atlas for young readers, using animals from around the world to educate young readers about other countries and their wildlife. Animals are presented by region and each region includes a special feature, or 'spotlight' of one to four animals in the area. In addition, thematic spreads are interspersed to allow kids the chance to dig deeper and learn more about the world through the animals they love. Weird but true and fun facts add humour and even more appeal for young readers. This is a great gift or addition to a library or bookshelf - to be re-read and treasured for years to come.

wonderful book 10 Jan 2011

I have been looking for animal atlas or encyclopedia for a while. I decided to get this one for my kids for Chirstmas, and I love it and so do they. It has great pictures, big format and the animals are listed according to the continents they live in. There are continents maps with the animals pictures as well. It is easy to work with. My daughter always asked what animals lived in Africa, now she is able to find it our all by herself with this book.

Beautiful book! New NatGeo Kids FAN! 30 Mar 2011

I was pleasantly surprised at the size and quality of this book! Definitely gift quality and "coffee table" gorgeous! My granddaughter will love it! Just discovered NatGeo Kids through a NatGeo Kids magazine I ran into a few weeks ago. Within days she had it dogeared & worn & carried it everywhere with her. I picked her up from school one day & she was busy explaining one of the articles to the principal! The phenomenal photography you would expect from National Geographic & quick facts geared to the kinds of questions kids ask about animals.

Great for kids and adults 30 July 2011
By kk815 - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
I bought this book for my daughter from her school book fair. I refuse to buy a book that she will read and it will sit on the shelf so I told her it had to be something that can be looked at again and again- a 'reference' book. I was so surprised by how much she LOVED this book. She was 6 1/2 at the time and it became our nightly ritual reading about a certain animal in a certain region. She loved counting the animals on each page and continues to look back at the book, knows the continents and the animals that live in each continent. Pictures are great!
