Peter Fonda was Blue, before he became Captain America. But what reason he had to be blue is beyond me. He was the leader of cool gang of outlaw bikers (played by some of the real Hell's Angels, including Sonny Barger) and on the back of his chopped Harley was riding Nancy Sinatra. Does life get much better?

In this film Fonda utters the immortal and oft-borrowed line 'We wanna ride our machines without being hassled by the man. And we wanna get loaded!'

Recognise it? Primal Scream and Mudhoeny both sampled it.

Great riding sequences, great fights, great lines, typical Corman directing, great Sixties instrumental theme (by Dave Allen and the Arrows - if you like Dick Dale...). I'm going to sit down and watch it again.

Released in 1966, it must have shocked the nation and no mistake.
This is as close to the Hells's Angels myths as has been shown on the silver screen. Peter Fonda is yet again the motor-cycling hero and looks good in the role. There is an excellent cast and the extras are in fact a Hell's Angel chapter from Venice, California.
It is wild for the year, and proprieties however, are observed, as there is no nudity; sex is present, but not shown; and there is extensive use of drugs. Mind you, I did not notice any bad language, which shows just how innocent we were in the so called "Swinging sixties".
This one is certainly worth seeing.
A great biker movie!

Excellent camera work, shot framing, editing etc. Corman really showing how to put together professional work on a budget & in a limited time-frame (unlike laughable drivel by Ed Wood). A whole lot better than similar contemporary stuff like Hells Angels on Wheels, acting not bad (Fonda, Ms Sinatra, Dern (as the death & soul of his own wake)-what no Nicholson or Roarke?),but the whole dynamic of the film is let down by the really poor nondescript soundtrack.

If only they could have gone the way of The Trip (also a Corman/Fonda film)& got somebody like Bloomfield/Electric Flag to write the whole thing or used decent & relevant rock/pop tracks like Easy Rider. I guess the budget just didn't run to it.
