What is the advantage of overtaking the trainer and following the dog? I know that you go a different route but all that I find happens is you finish quicker because you have to run faster and your burn rate is low. I have a personal best 364 percent burn rate on the Island route and I find that if i put the remote in my bra strap I get the best results!!!
Nice ideal...but friend who is a wonderful shape.. but natural 36 g/h...think signal will get lost!!!, but will suggest it...me , I will stay well clear in case it gathers momentum & bounces out and hits me or worst still breaks the window... Lol
Pacemaker...That's a thought...are there any warnings in instructions...if you try maybe stick in the side furthest away, and maybe have friend on hand incase in does, am sure if it does affect it, will return to normal the second its removed...so maybe best to read 1st, 2nd if no advice/warning have friend on hand.
i think we have got wires crossed somewhere...i meant I don't think there is any advantage of over taking the Mii guy who runs in front of you in the jogging games. Called Pace Makers in real life running to ensure your pace is even. Not Pace Maker as in heart instrument.
I apologise ..lol...we certainly had our wire crossed.my fault :0)
Though in saying that what effect if any would it have on someone with a heart pace maker ?
WE must be a generation apart somewhere down the line as when i was at school I did a lot of long distance running and the pace "setter" (not sure if I have spelt that right), was what we called the one the set the pace of the race.. :0)
From what i have read you do get to chose the route to a degree, in real life the one who set the pace (when working as a team) was always the one who had the least change of winning....but could keep a constant speed, enable those that could sprint having done a nice pace, had more chance at winning for the team. So may be worth keeping just behind and sprinting at the end to see if you get different figures..
I personally can not jog at the moment so have no idea what the Wii calls the one in front. Else i would love to try the various option, behind, ahead, and last minute sprint to see if i gained more points...alas may be an year before I can do that...as they say you have to learnt to walk before you run (& I 've been off my feet for 2/3 years at the moment.)
Next time my mate is jogging I will watch pay more attention .. :0)
I dread to think what would happen to anyone who did try the Wii jogging with a Heart Pace Maker, since they are supposed to regulate the hear at a constant speed i susspect that high aerobic activites are to be avoided.
Well you get 3 distances in the Wii jogging, short lap (3 min) Long lap (6 min) and Island lap which takes about 12 (min) and is excrushiating on the legs! There are other jogging programmes, like 2 player (not done that one yet so don't know what's involed but i think it's something along the lines of running with a partner and see who goes the longes etc) Then there is free jogging which is a minimum of 10 min.
Yes in normal running you do get a 'pace setter' then the one who can sprint wins for the team but then all the team comes in about the same time rather than a greater staggerd finish.
The main trick, if you want, with the Wii jogging is to run at a constant speed all the way round your lap, the faster you jog the more likely your Mii is to trip, so slowly jogging is better. The better you do the higher your burn rate is.
I have also found that bouncing on the spot keeps your Mii running which is useful if your legs are a little sore.
I find Wii Fit utterley useless. Having had a personal trainer who was an expert in biomechanics, I know that much of the "advice" given on this program is wrong. For instance, maintaining a steady slow jogging pace does not increase your burn rate. All the latest research points to a varying pace being far more beneficial, so it is necessary to speed up for a short time, then slow down, and continue this throughout the exercise.
The weight and bmi feedback is also dubious, as are the "ideal weights" it gives based as they are on height alone. This console and it's programs are going in the bin. A waste of money. Going for good brisk walks will do much more good than this.
I cannot get past the short distance in jogging on Wii Fit plus. Have done it many times and answered the questions correctly but it won't open the next distance. Any suggestions - i am fed up of just going around in a small circle
