Just thought i would do my review as was sceptical this cable would work for me to hook my PS3 up to cheap DGM 24" monitor, i neednt have worried as after connecting up and following instructions on box its all working well at 1080i :)
As others have said you do need to connect PS3 initally to BOTH your normal TV via the composite/phono and you VGA monitor to perform the setup in PS3 menu, also lead isnt very long so they need to be next to each other ot have a phono extension lead, once setup is done you can move monitor back to normal place as you dont need to keep connected to TV which i was worried you might of. All good once setup :D

Thanks
Ian

Sets up quickly and easily if you follow the instructions on the back of the box. You will need access to a regular TV (not necessarily HDTV) for the very first time to switch the Wii output to 480p using this cable. After that it works fine on a regular monitor. You may need to tell your monitor not to warn you that you aren't at optimum resolution but that's because the output may not be at the max resolution for your monitor.

I found the colours not as bright as the TV but that may also be just because the monitor colours are set bright enough (or the TV was too bright)

Seems to work well and I am very happy with it.

Firstly, I am a european customer so these comments may only apply to normal european equipment..

You actually need a TV set in order to set this thing up (because you need to plug the wii into a tv and do some on screen setup to change its video output to a mode comaptible with this cable.)

Also, I can confirm that the image blacks out for a couple of seconds every ten minutes or so when playing ordinary european wii games.

Also, the VGA monitor plug is the wrong sex, a sex changer is included but you will need to modify it by removing some bolts before you can actually use it, and the result is that the VGA cable cannot be screwed into the monitor.

Apart from that the image quality is better than I expected and I am quite pleased with the product.

Used to use a VGA box for playing my Wii on a PC monitor, but it blurred the picture and would only work in 50hz. This cable produces a crystal clear image, runs at 480p and 60hz.

I've read a few comments about the image blacking out for a second once in a while and I've come across the problem, but only when I'm playing imported NTSC games. My PAL games all work perfectly.

I tested the cable on a PS3 too, it took a while to get it set up, but once I did, it ran perfectly. Well worth the price.

The item arrived quickly, was well packaged and didn't take too much effort to setup despite the fact you need access to a standard television. The first time I got the Wii connected I was very impressed by the sharp picture and the rich colours however after a few hours of use I started getting blackous every few mins i.e. the picture would drop and go black for 2-3 seconds then return which, for me, makes it unusable. I am using an LG W2361V monitor which has never shown any signs of funny behaviour and works perfectly well with my pc and ps3 so I can only assume its the cable.

I ordered it from elekroworld who to be fair did respond to my request for support but they simply said return address but did not specify if they indented to replace it or refund me and did not answer when I asked for clarification. Anyway I will send it to the address and see what they do.

In all it is quite disappointing because it clearly works very well and gives a very nice picture when it isnt blacking ouy and would be perfect if not for the irritating fault which I dont know can be fixed by replacing it.

This cable works fine for my PS3 on a Samsung monitor. It can't handle 1080 though, just 720p. The image is very sharp though, no problems with blurring at all. Sound is pumped out with both split(red & white) jacks and a combined jack if your sound system needs that instead, so no worries there either.

very long and hard to set up once set up screen could not fit on to monitor tried various settings didnt worked perfer it on my normal tv creates a very bright screen which i did try many things to lessen it but it was still bright just darker waste of my money i'll probably sell it on here to someone esle who can do something with it. One mans rubbish another mans gold.

Well I was a little skeptical reading the other reviews so thought I ought to share my findings trying to connect to the WII.

It does suffer from the screen blackouts which for me made it unplayable - the blackouts last a few seconds. HOWEVER that was on a new LG2361V. So I had a bright Idea and plugged it into and older ACER X193W monitor and it worked no blackouts at all!
Unfortunately the picture quality wasn't so good as compared to RGB on an HD TV (and this was the same on both monitors - the picture was noticeable more blurry and not as sharp)

So I am back to the TV connection. Some may be able to live with the blackouts and less clear picture - but I can't.

Hope this helps someone.
