Yet again MS BENATAR has done it again which this rock powered album. Wide awake in dreamland is a the best rock album from the year 1988,she puts the likes of HEART to shame. All fired up starts the album of rocking, the lyrics r so powerfull and her voice just hits u like thunder. One love has got some great passionate words. The song one love was written for Bob marley as pat and neil were great fans of his. Too long a soilder, what a brilliant piece of material written by pat and the gang,it explains the life about being a soilder at war. Powerfull words yet again,Cool zero, wot a show her voice puts on for u,U go girl. Lift em on up,crazy good song, dont know wot its about, put a very good song. Suffer the little children is another song by pat about child abuse,(hell is for children,1980 from the album Crimes of passion)this song was written in 1988 after a girl called melissa was aducted and found dead, pat pours her heart out on this paticular song, very strong meaningfull words. Over all the album is great, its good a mixture of rock/pop/love and peace. A great album. U should get ur copy of this album as soon as possible as the album is now out of print,u have got to get this album.
ALL HAIL DOWN TO PAT BENATAR
ONE LOVE

`Wide Awake in Dreamland' is pretty much Pat Benatar's best album. Coming three year's after her 7th, 1985's rousing pop-rock `Seven the hard way (1985)', it marked not only the end of a relatively long absence for the artist who had previously put out a record a year since 1979's debut, `In the Heat of the Night', but also a surprising maturation in style.

This was her fourth album produced by Peter Coleman and he is joined here by her guitarist/husband Neil Geraldo. After three albums more attuned to pop, `Wide Awake in Dreamland' predominantly returns her to her original style of rock with attitude - though not quite the hard rock of early discs such as `Crimes of Passion' and `Precious Time'. This is more nuanced, sophisticated and is massively elevated by the use of male backing vocals, rather than the usual multi-layered recording of the lead singer herself. It sticks to the band's tried and true formula of rock, ballads and dabblings in genre-hopping - predominantly band-penned tracks mixed in with a smattering of covers and pro-written songs. But it had never come together with quite the panache that it does on this selection.

This album is the best that Pat Benatar has ever released. There are strong ballads and classic rock songs, something for all Pat Benatar fans. Her official website has confirmed that it is no longer in production - if you can get hold of one then you are lucky and should hold onto it!

Ahhh..Pat Benatar, the 80's answer to all of the power pop princesses of today. In her prime the Canadian was nothing short of wonderful, with a spiky attitude and big doe eyes and a voice that could crumble walls..then came the mediocrity of Love is a Battlefield and We belong..oh dear!
Benatar made a return to patchy form with this and even tried to get us all thinking with Suffer the Little Children (simply superb). Too Long a Soldier is excellent, and cool Zero faetures a fantastic drum rock-out as an outro, whilst One Love is made for driving with the top down. Not a bad album, but not a brilliant one either.
