I'm going to break the mould a bit and give "Wicked Rake, Defiant Mistress" 4 stars.

I enjoyed reading it, and whilst it may not be highbrow literature, I was expecting a lot less from the title! I have to admit that Regency romances are a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine, and I was pleasantly surprised in this one that the "Defiant Mistress" was actually defiant - or at least compared to many of her counterparts in other similar books.

I found it to be a nice easy read, with twists that I did not expect, and a satisfying happy ending - just what I needed!

Fair warning . I am not a romance reader. Decently written with a few good plot twists. Historical accuracy and character depth need work. Ok for a few hours entertainment but not worth keeping on my Kindle.

Very enjoyable. Easy to read. This book is excellent for sitting and relaxing in the garden. When I started reading this novel I just wanted to read on until it was finished.
