Initially I was dismayed because the installation instructions only referred to Apple and Android products. But my email elicited a response from Danny at Digi Funk of "when is a convenient time to talk you through it". I was amazed! Itunes, Windows Media Player and Spotify (the Premium version) all have the option to stream from within themselves but what I wanted was to be able to switch any audio output to stream so that my laptop played though my music system. Danny pointed me in the direction of an excellent third party product 'Airfoil' which allowed me to do just that. I also needed to turn Internet Protocol Version 6 off as mentioned by another reviewer. Just what I wanted.

I bought one of these, I admit I was a little sceptical at first, but as I live in a remote are where radio signals are non-exsistent I so wanted to be able to stream radio via the internet to my HiFi, plus all my music, whilst also keeping my HiFi as I am very fond of it.
When the item arrived, I was impressed with how small & cool it looks, then discovered that my Sony HiFi (MX550i) doesn't have an AUX Jack,(Lead supplied) but does have a 3.5mm Aux / Line in, and although it doesn't come with one of these leads I already possessed one, so I breathed a sigh of relief. I followed the very easy instructions that are provided with this item. The AirMusic receiver gets it's power via USB so I just connected it to the USB port on my BT Hub, simple!
Then following the instructions I then connected my iPad 2, my iPhone 5C, My old and trusty iMac running OS 10.6.8, my Grandson's iPod Touch 4 and my husbands Windows phone, all work brilliantly.

As I say I was sceptical when I ordered it, but it has certainly proved itself a Great little item, well worth the price. I highly recommend this, it does exactly what it says simply.

I recently replaced my amplifier in the dinning room with a Dennon Ceol. Great little system. Playing Spotify, over airplay, from a iPad or iPhone has been fantastic and I wanted to be able to do the same in the kitchen. I was using a cable to connect my iPad to the amp in the kitchen - works fine, but because the amp is on a high shelf, using the iPad can be a bit tricky. So I looked at the Apple Airport Express to allow me to play wirelessly using airplay. This gadget is less than half the price and works perfectly. Setup was easy (the supplied instructions are very clear). You will need a USB power supply (I used one of many I have from old phones).

easy to set-up, you can even set a WPA/WPA2 password when connecting the device to your home wifi for additional security. The quality of the music is as good as CD if not better, plus i can stream tunein radio also to get worldwide stations from my iPhone throughout the house....and its half the price of apples own version.

My 15 year old stereo just became as good as a network player!

I bought this receiver to stream Spotify from my tablet to my home music system. It works superbly. To stream from android, you will have to root the device first. There are plenty of guides on the web and it is definitely worth spending the time to root your device and make the small investment in this receiver. It has completely refreshed my home music system for minimal investment.

Bought this device to stream from my ipad and Macbook Pro to my old (but still good) Onkyo hi-fi after trying a bluetooth product that wouldn't pair with either Apple device. Within 5 minutes it was connected to my wireless network and I could stream music from ipad and Macbook perfectly either from iTunes, Spotify or even internet radio stations. You can stay connected to it wirelessly if you want (it has security settings) and still get on the internet, although you may be better to reconnect to your normal internet connection as I am getting 62-64mbs on my normal Virgin connection but only 20mbp through this device. You can either pay £30 for this gadget and stream music from any source on your device or you can pay £80 for Airport Express and only be able to stream from iTunes (unless you pay around £15 for an app such as airfoil) - no brainer!

It can also be used with an android device and comes with full and very clear step-by-step instructions provided for both Apple and android - though obviously I can't comment on use with android.

It comes with all the leads needed but one minor problem is that it draws its power from a usb connection so you would probably need to buy a normal three-pin usb 5V power source but in my case I had a spare one from my last Samsung phone (or you could just use your Apple power plug). This is such a small negative and the device is such a good product that I couldn't dream of knocking off a star!!

The AirMusic Receiver can also act as MiFi (Mobile WiFi Hotspot), by connecting an external 3G dongle to the USB port on the receiver, this will share the data connection via WiFi, meaning any device connected to the receiver via WiFi will be able to browse the internet using the 3G dongle connection.

Delivery from DigiFunk was also very quick, arriving within 48 hours of order; they also quickly and clearly answered a question I had regarding the USB port which I have added to this review.
