Book Description

25 Sep 2011
Tom Harris uses his And another thing... blog as an outlet for opinions, jokes, musings and whimsy about a range of subjects including but not only politics. If you believe that politicians take themselves too seriously, you might enjoy it. If you think they should take themselves very seriously indeed, or shouldn t have any interests outside politics, I would avoid it, frankly. Try John Redwood. Tom has been a Labour MP since 2001, and was a minister at the Department for Transport from September 2006 until October 2008. He has a number of obsessive interests, including Doctor Who, science fiction in general, the music of Genesis, The X-Factor and any other old rubbish that comes into my head. Oh, and politics.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bloggers should take note... 27 Sep 2011
By C J
Format:Kindle Edition
'Why I'm right...and everyone else is wrong' is an excellent example of how any popular blogger should approach a book deal.

While re-publishing his best blog posts, Harris adds just enough additional insight to his tales to make them still relevant and even more interesting than they were the first time around. Covering everything from his favourite karaoke songs to his encounters with the Prime Minister, Harris ensures that no-one could possibly describe politics as dull, and it does indeed live up to his claim that politics is 'more entertaining than the best soap opera, with more interesting and better-written characters.'

Harris' appeal is that he writes extremely well and is able to draw you into even the dullest of topics (case in point, I made it half-way through the post about Doctor Who before I even realised I had no clue what was being referenced). He has 100% lived up to his hope of producing something entertaining and well-written and certainly manages to paint politicians 'in a new light, as human, mostly.'

A thoroughly good read.
